au Julie Hyndman, an Australian author, has been writing for eighteen years, and has appeared in a wide variety of publications; internationally, in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, as well as the International Poetry Anthology and an anthology with the Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.

Her first book was published in 2015; ‘Pushing Shadows’ is collection of poetry, about life, loss and love. She is working on another book of poetry and also a book about her experiences as the wife of a FIFO (fly in fly out) worker.

Julie writes a regular column What’s on Your Bedside Table for the Victorian publication Positive Words and for SCOPE,  the Queensland publication for Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.

She was the poetry judge for the Noosa Arts and Crafts Short Story and Poetry Competition 2016

Julie presented at the Brisbane Writers Festival 2015 and 2016, with the Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland and will be appreaing at the inaugural Sunshine Coast International Readers and Writers Festival (sister to the Ubud Writers Festival) 2016 at Coolum in September.

She is the President of Fellowship of Austarlian Writers Queensland.

She is also a founding member and President of the Wild Women Writers group, and of ‘Pure Poetry’ group, which she runs on the Sunshine Coast.

Julie attends Professor Bruce Dawe AO poetry classes on the Sunshine coast.

Julie is also an Artist, working in Pastel; her original artwork appears on the front cover of ‘Pushing Shadows’, in a local gallery and private homes.

Her creative mind also extends to clothes design- her passion is to upcycle items by adding her flair to everyday clothes, creating unique pieces.
